In the past five years, Siemens Metering Services has been awarded five consecutive RoSPA Gold Medals for its performance under occupational safety and health. We achieved 'Level 5' when measured against the RoSPA QSA Health and Safety Auditing Framework - the highest health and safety rating within this scheme.
We follow the guidelines set out in HSG65 "Successful Health and Safety Management" and comply with the requirements of OHSAS 18001. We're recognised for best practice in training and communicating on health and safety issues. Besides training our own employees, we also provide training workshops for other companies in the industry.
External bodies regularly audit our Health and Safety Management System (HSMS), including organisations working on behalf of key customers, Siemens Metering Services or Siemens UK. We also carry out regular internal audits, such as safety audits on the Health and Safety Management System.
There's an open and honest culture in the business. We encourage individuals to report all accidents and incidents by calling our dedicated accident and incident reporting line (AIRline). Our goal is to learn from these reports so that we can further reduce accidents.
Siemens Metering Services adheres to the UK-wide "Doorstep Protocol". This outlines standards set out by the Trading Standards Institute and police forces across the UK to ensure the highest level of service to our customers in their homes and businesses. Regular inspections and checks of our employees are carried out to ensure that all work meets our safety standards. We train employees at our Dunstable College facility, where our NVQ courses are accredited by City & Guilds.
