What is the Carbon Reduction Commitment?

The Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) is the UK's mandatory climate change and energy saving scheme, due to start in April 2010. This is a Government initiative to target business organisations that qualify to reduce carbon emissions and hence energy consumption by a range of financial incentives.

Time is of the essence…as the scheme comes into force on 1 April 2010.

How do I know if my organisation affected?

If your organisation...

has at least one half-hourly electric meter (HH) that is settled on the half-hourly market
exceeded half-hourly electricity consumption of 6000 megawatt-hours (MWh) during 2008.

…you are affected by the Government's Carbon Reduction Commitment.
